The early regulation of arousal and physiological state is essential for successful adaptation to the environment and plays a key role in maintaining sleep and awake cycles as well as regulating hunger and satiety.
Infants and toddlers with a regulatory disorder experience problems in both behavioral regulation and sensory-motor organization.
Problems are experienced with sleep, self-consoling, feeding, attention and arousal, mood regulation or transitions and is essential to address as part of treatment protocol for related conditions.
